Is this the factory hood bra?
It came with the car when I bought it. It doesn't say Mercedes or have any other markings on it.
At higher speeds the wind causes the long edge at the back to constantly smack the hood. It lacks "flaps" to keep it held down.
Just curious if this is the factory bra.

Sewed some flaps on it today. Works pretty good now. Still a little flutter on the far right and left around 80mph, but I can live with it.

When you're going fast, the back of the bra starts oscillating/fluttering and whacking the hood 10 times a second. The flaps create constant down force and keeps that from happening.

Before today I've only used it once and that was just for a few minutes as it started to smack the hood at high speed. I imagine it would eventually scuff or scratch the paint if I were to keep driving with it like that.
The underlying material touching the hood is very soft and I don't believe it will harm the paint for a road trip with my new flaps. If you were to kept it on all the time, I'm sure it would scuff or scratch the paint as dirt and debris will eventually get in there and act like sandpaper.

The reason I asked is that I do Concours events. My friends that use bras always put micro fiber towels under the bra in strategic areas to prevent paint issues.
