Consumer battery deep cycle?
Is the consumer battery a deep cycle battery? I read somewhere in my searches that it was, if so would it be appropriate to set the ctek charger for deep cycle battery when connected to maintain battery life?

Well that is a really good question. The trunk battery is an AGM (advanced glass mat battery) and that refers more to its construction than its discharge type. However, most AGM batteries serve as deep cycle batteries.

I put my cetek battery maintainer on the accessory battery in the trunk. The battery under the hood is a starter battery.

Thanks for all the responses. I use the ctek on the consumer (trunk) battery when the car is not being used regularly. Considering it is a deep cycle battery would it not be appropriate to use the deep cycle setting on the ctek? Would it hurt anything?

I set my CTEK on the regular battery cycle and it does the job. I would contact CTEK direct and ask your question. They will only need your model number for reference.

I just found my CTEK manual and they recommend using the setting with the snowflake and Optima battery for AGM batteries
