Question Does your steering wheel have this badge on it?

Does your steering wheel have the cursive Mercedes-Benz logo on it like in this picture? I like this steering wheel emblem that I believe comes on 2013 and up R231's.

The one I have on my W212 just says airbag, which I don't like. I'm trying to nail down the right trim piece to buy and I think this is standard on the '13 and up R231. Just seeking your help in verifying it's the right part before I blindly buy one based on part numbers and diagrams. Thanks in advance.

SL350 and SL320
Does anyone have the part number for this on the R231? I have a 2012 R231 SL350, and the badge is scratched. Plus I don't like the italic writing, so I was thinking to replace it with the AMG version of the same badge.

Thanks in advance.

The AMG version doesn't say Mercedes-Benz on it, it says AMG. And I don't think you'd want AMG badges on an SL350.

For the pre-facelift R231, there were 2 variants of the chrome trim:

A0994641413 - which has the bottom label "Mercedes-Benz"
A0994642313 - which has the bottom label "AMG"

Both parts are interchangeable and are around ~$/€/£ 60-110. To swap the chrome trim, you will need to remove the airbag. I wrote brief instruction notes that may be helpful here.

Can't wait for all the non-AMG owners to get the AMG steering wheel badge to make them feel special.

For those with a pre-facelift non-AMG engined R231 but with the AMG package, there are plenty of bits on the car that will say AMG anyway, e.g. floormats. At best the branding of the cars can be rather inconsistent.

Should it make someone happy to install the spoiler off a Subaru WRX and a giant hood scoop, I don't consider it a direct concern of mine.

I was thinking the same thing. I have the AMG factory package and there are plenty of AMG items about the car that Mercedes decided it is was ok to add.
