Question About Parktronic....

I live near a small town with no parallel parking spaces so I have not been able to test out the self parking feature on my 2017 SL450. If the system encounters a space between two vehicles that is too small for parking how does it indicate this to the driver? I assume you see no arrow next to the "P" on the dashboard.
Thanks.....

My suggestion is based on my assumption hat you have way to much time on your hands, therefore----What happens when you setup a situation with two drilling trucks spaced close together----what happens-------now move the trucks apart----what happens!!

and before that what does the manual indicate!!

The car does side scans when it is below 20mph, which on my 2015 is indicated by the "P". It only turns on the arrow when it sees something it can park in. It will scan both right and left sides and will turn on an arrow on either side when it detects a parkable space.

You activate it by stopping and putting in reverse. It will ask if you want it to park, click OK on the wheel and it will steer while you brake. If it needs you to shift to drive to pull forward, it will ask you.

Kind of handy parking on the left side, since most of us in right-side countries don't get to practice that often.
