75 450sl question

I have a 75 450sl that i just bought this week. It had been sitting for the last four years. I feared the ignition switching unit was bad because of no spark at the points, so i set it up kettering style to troubleshoot further.

My present problem is i have spark and fuel on each cylinder, but the only two that seem to be firing are #2, and #3. I drained the entire fuel system, replaced the fuel filter, did a complete turn up. The spark is very good at the plugs (atleast until they drown out with gas). Also, there is a little black box under the steering column at is just hanging and appears to be pretty well crunchy inside. Is the crunchy box the ECU and if not, what the heck is it and why are does the box have a ford logo on it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The ECU is in the pass side footwell up on the firewall.
I don't know about the black box but it could have something to do with cruise control. MB used a Philco brand back then.

I'm not sure what the black box is for but there shouldn't be anything "Ford" in your 107.

Don't be too sure on that. MB used a fridgidaire (GM) ac compressor on the early 107 and a Philco (Ford) cruise control.
