380sl Air/Fuel Ratio VERY RICH after warmup

Hi everyone.

We took a 1000 mile trip and along the way the car started running extremely rich, pouring black smoke. It runs perfectly until it's warmed up completely, or if is running over 80 mph it runs fine all the time.

It has 146k and had a complete tuneup, including all ignition, fuel pump, fuel filter, timing chain, guides, plus more, less than 10k ago.

Any ideas? We need to drive this back those 1000 miles. I have access to tools. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a hole on the top of the air cleaner. Performance Products sells a tool that looks like a long allen key that goes into this hole. You can adjust the air/fuel mixture while the car if running by inserting this tool and slowly turning it.
