Hardtop Adjustment

I haven't worked on my 85 380 Sl for a year, so now I am ready to start again. Last year I adjusted the linkage under the cover where the soft top is stored to maek the pinion easier to grab the soft top while putting it up. When I attempted to install the hardtop for the Winter, I couldn't get the pinion to grab and pull the back of the hardtop down. I left it since then. But I am ready to take the hard top off and wanted to know if there are any specs to adjust the linkage properly.

Is this a hit and miss adjustment? Does anyone have experience with this problem? Everything lookd like it is operating ok, but something is just missing this pin from engaging the rear of the hardtop. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Wow, here it is cruising season and you're want to work on her...?

Just kidding. As a wild *** guess, is the HT pin oriented correctly? Compare it to the soft top.

Beyond that, though I haven't looked, you might check the online 107 service manual for the correct way or adjusting the latch.
