High idle problem '84 380SL
Hi guys,
currently I have a high idle problem. It's been sitting in my garage for about two years and trying to get it back on the road again.
it was actually running 1800RPM-2000RPM initially when I found a few wornout vacuumconnectors and a broken thermovalve connection. After replacement of these items it's running at about 1300rpm in warm condition. What else have I checked:
-OVSP relay, it's okay
-Electronic Idle adjuster works (clicks on power up)
-checked for other leaks in vacuum.
-RPM drops when putting it into gear to approx 600RPM
Now what I've noticed is when I pull the vacuum off the ignition distributor the RPM drops to about 850-900 rpm. Still a fraction too high but at least more into normal ranges. It runs a little irregular like almost a sawtooth but when I block off the pulled vacuumline it runs steady at 850-900rpm.
Any idea what else could be the problem??
The engine is a 116.962 V8 NV CAT
