1971 350SL tranny Help

Good day everyone,
I recently started rebuilding a Euro 71 350SL and I'm running into transmission problems here.Hope there's someone that can guide me.
Engine is a M116.982 cast iron block, original transmission was a K4A040 or also known as 722.201(4 speed automatic, hydraulic wet clutch).
Here is the main problem, the transmission is a total wreck with absolutely no chance of rebuilding or even finding the parts in my country. Besides bolting on a 3 speed automatic box which came later in the 350SL round 1972-3, is there ANY bolt on or minimal change solutions for a 4 speed automatic with torque converter? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.
