Dashboard going haywire
Hi guys,
I had a broken dashlight so I removed the dash yesturday. While having it removed I took it apart so I could paint the gauges again. Not much to it, straight forward disassembly. Assembled it again and put it back, also pretty straight forward....you think.
But.....it's going ballistic now. I think it's a grounding problem.
What does it do:
gauges showing max when selecting a blinker left or right
all cockpitlights are blinking when blinker selected
gauges are going back and forth while blinking
gauges showing more than real data or less
both blinker lights on when blinker selected
oil pressure drops to almost 1 when lights selected
fuel gauge and watertemp go to max when lights selected
When I remove the square powerplug on the centerunit indications seem pretty ok as long as I leave the lights off but ofcourse no warning lights.
Any quick thoughts on this??

Okay guys...not much response but was able to solve it so hopefully someobe can use this in the future.
It turned out to be a grounding problem. No idea how it was grounded before the problem occured but hey...stuff happens. So created a separate grounding cable and connected it between the rightside metal backplate from the cluster and the frame. Everything is working as advertised again including the light which started this adventure.
Cheers Johnny
