Crank sensor

i have just replaced my 1973 350sl engine with a full engine from a 1976 350sl.
All has gone well, but it won't start.
Turns over and has fuel. On checking, there is no spark.
It has a crank sensor which my earlier engine didn't have. Is this the key?
I don't know where to wire the two leads from the sensor.
Any ideas anyone please?

The crank sensor is not like modern engines. It has nothing to do with your starting problem. It actually no longer serves any purpose on the 4.5L engines.

You are running the '73 D-Jet system, correct?
