Best plane of attack SRS codes?

I pulled all the codes from my 88 560sl (the SRS lamp was on) I got "drivers air bag", "Passengers belt buckle switch" and "circuit 15 voltage problem" I have noticed at night when driving the lamp would once in a while go out, I have read this is indicative of steering wheel contacts but what do I know. By looking at the schematic of the SRS system I am guessing because the seatbelt switch is not grounding that port on the controller I'm not getting a voltage signal and thus the air bag is disabled. I hit the seatbelt switch with contact cleaner but other than that I would like some direction from the more knowledgeable group in the forum. Am I all wrong and if so please direct me.

Not a direct answer to you question but here is a thread about replacing slip ring, brushes and cable. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c1...slip-ring.html
