560sl hardtop storage rack

Hi brand new to MB life. Purchased 1989 560sl for wife just retired. We have the hard top in the basement can anyone direct us to correct storage of hardtop? A rack or something else to protect as I doubt we will ever put it on as this will be a sunny day type car. Thanks in advance

If you are handy you can build a rolling cart. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c1...t-hardtop.html

I have a custom holder on wheels that I used for my 1989 560SL hardtop. I traded the 560SL a couple years ago for my 2012 E550 Coupe. I'll take some pics if interested. Not sure if it comes apart easy for shipping but I can check (I am in Virginia).

Also, welcome!! I enjoyed my 1989 560SL very much and was sad to let it go (the dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse).

The holder / cart is made of aluminum.

Here are pics of my 560SL and E550C.

Nice pics must have been tough but like your replacement. We enjoyed this summer riding with the top down. First time we are driving for fun instead of work. Still learning all parts of the MB life but finding a lot of real nice people as part of it. Weather is too winter to move for a few days. Interested in rack Next step?

Pics of rack. It is aluminum and very lightweight. It is bolted together.

I'll PM you.
