the cruise control is simply all over the place and doesn't feel safe to use......in fact i can't!
anyone know whats happening here?
Any tweaks or adjustments? are they difficult and expensive to replace?
Gotta be honest I'm not entirely sure how they even function on these older Mercs.

Never really use cruise controls much on any car but i'm plaaning some extended driving in France & Italy this Spring so it might in fact be useful.

any help would be appreciated.

Before this get very expensive with SA WAG solutions----find a shop that has experience with and knowledge of the CC on your model---they will have to have some good diagnostics or you will be putting their children through college--never the less the things you look at first are all tires the same size----are all inflated correctly-- speed sensor wiring--then you are into the electronics and I am sure you have a wiring diagram\pulse counter for the CC system.

It costs $50 to resolve .. look up the same issue in the W126 section, find a member who will replace the unit for you. Very easy.
