SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: kleemann sl65 dynoed

kleemann sl65 dynoed
i apologize from my prvious post
(SL 65 DYNO RESULTS)
seems like the dyno dynapack was off on the torque quite a bit
finally made it to atlanta and went to "Benzmac's" Shop
The man is a Mercedes GOD...
After obtaining true baseline numbers and obtaining a good coil signal
we dyoed it on a dynojet and got 522 HP and 621 TQ AT Rear wheel.
I have purchased from BENZMAC ...KLEEMAN Lowering module
and Kleemann Chip upgrade
the baseline and the improved performance is diplayed in the picture
707 TQ and 561 RWHP
The car feels insane now...
Kleemann had a custom file made for my car and after trying a couple i must say i feel that my car is getting the most from this upgrade
Thanks Benzmac for the meticulous testing and for the perfect tuning

piko6,
You should join us in ATL on April 30th. Details in the event section. We will be doing dyno runs in the afternoon then on the next day heading to the drag strip to lay down some real numbers!

............it has been really nice to have someone like Benzmac around. I take my car to him for everything, even for items covered under MB warranty........prefering to pay out of pocket in many instances for his expertise than go to an MB dealer.

the tach signal was obtained by benzmac from the cotrol unit underneath the engine carbon fiber cover .. once removed you have 6 little cables exposed
cable number one is the control tach cable

You have to re-define the degree rotation of the inductive lead as well. 120 degrees rotation as an input definition will get you a matching tach signal.
The control unit is the Temic ignition module, pin one, red wire.

Yes- thats the one. Be sure that there is not interference with any adjacent wire. Most inductive clamps will pick up very low level "square wave" signals. At this voltage you may be reading other signals at the same time. Try flipping around the inductive clamp and isolating it as best you can.

Any fix or alternate solution on the airbox? It seems to heat-building location if it accumulates heat from the engine and the coolers, especially with a CF and metal cover on top of it. Or does it really matter?

In my experience you must dyno in 3rd until you remove the vmax then you can dyno in 4th.
You need to have the car in dyno mode. Just switching off the ESP at the button is not enough.

I guess since I did all of the work and was able to get the tach signal, I should chime in...
I found the tach signal and used a small clamp with a ground strap that connects to the block to help get rid of the noise, then I installed a small piece of paper between the clamp and all other wires.
The car was dynoed in 3rd gear all of the way to redline...

Benzmac, we would love to have you attend our event in ATL on April 30th.
Your knowledge of AMG's would be a huge help at our dyno sessions in the afternoon. I would be hapy to buy you lunch!
Is it possible to lower my CLS with just the star tool?
Regards,
Schiz

What's the estimated driveline loss on the SL65? 15%? 20%?
What HP/torque is estimated at the crank with 561 RWHP/707 lb/ft?
Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.

Found a prev post by Ben Treynor that helps a lot:
"For Mercedes 5-sp 'auto cars'; divide RWHP by 0.81 to get BHP. Thus, for example, the S600's 525 RWHP translates to (525/0.81 = ) 648 BHP.
For the Viper, divide RWHP by 0.87: (475 / 0.87 = ) 546 BHP.

Cheers, Ben ('05 RENNtech SL65, '03 DC Performance Viper SRT/10) ".
So 561RWHP= 692.6 BHP and 707lb/ft=872.8lb/ft=1183.4Nm.
VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Even MORE Impressive is the low to midrange gain looking at the before and after curves. DAMN!

Seems AMG does understate the 65AMG engine output. According to the base graph, 521rwhp=644Bhp and 621rwlb/ft=766rwlb/ft=1083Nm CF. 604/612Bhp and 1000Nm quoted by MB/AMG.
I think when Veritas dynoed his CL65, he also got about 640Bhp.
Amazing engines!
