P30

I have a 2007 SL55 with P30 package but it does not have option 251 Increased speed for NAFTA. I thought that I read someplace that P30 increased speed limit from 155 to 186, but I know from personal experience that my car cuts out 155-160mph. I am interested in confirmation that 251 is needed to increase speed limiter. Thanks in advance.

​​​​​​I have a database of all SL55 P30s sold worldwide, by VIN number. P30 was available in the US on the SL55 for MY 2006, ‘07 and ’08. There is no mention of option 251 on the datasheets for ‘06s and ’07s, but the 2008s do list it. The US dealer ordering guides for all 3 years list the increased speed limit (186) as part of option 030/P30. Find a straight piece of highway and floor it- only way to find out for sure…

hahahaha, yea or take it to a performance tuner and have them delete the electronic limiter, that's what I did and man does it pull hard above 156mph!

I have floored it and it cut out at 155-160. I have been trying to determine the number of P30s and it looks like maybe 15% from what I can tell. Do you have numbers for each year? Also, I have a data sheet for a 2006 P30 which has option 251 on the build sheet. I can provide vin # if you like. I would really like to see the numbers you have for the P30 option. Thanks

I coded my max speed to 320kph using a recent autel shop scan/diag tool.

Make friends with a local shop that has a good scan tool, and do it yourself.
