SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55 Alarm Siren

SL55 Alarm Siren
Can someone help me out with the part number for the Alarm Siren? I have been plagued with a dying siren battery so it's going off every 15 minutes unless I lock without the alarm.
Also, is there a better way for me to look up part numbers? I use parts.com com but can't seem to find the siren.
Thanks in advance

Did you find out the part number? have you replaced it? was it easy? is it under the drivers or passengers wheel arch?

Anyone experience this siren issue with a 2005 or newer? Guess the answer is to either replace the batteries every 4-5 years or remove the siren. Surprised it isn't hard wired. Good info to have, I want to find out if this siren is still battery operated, I have a service coming up this month....

You found the correct horn. Its simple to remove and replace. Shouldn't take more than 20 min.. Part can be found on Parts.com
The only part # I could find for the horn on a 2003 SL55 is:
A 230 542 01 20 = Front right 400Hz horn
Here are some screen shots from the WIS on how to remove + install the horn:
Attachment 212085
Attachment 212086
Attachment 212087
Hope this helps

It should be the same siren.
YOU CAN'T REPLACE THE BATTERIES IN THE SIREN. IT IS A SEALED UNIT. The pics i posted in my other thread were after i sawed the unit in half with a hacksaw.
It is a hardwired unit, but functions as a standalone unit. The batteries charge themselves from the main consumer battery. However, after 4-5 years they go bad and leak.
Mercedes designed the siren this way so that in case the consumer battery and/or starter battery were disconnected, the siren would still sound.
Its not a big deal, just wait till it goes bad, and replace.
At least you know what it is. I thought i had all sorts of major problems going on...
