Hello.. Hope someone can help me out. I have a 2003 SL 500 that I am doing a Misha wide body. I have the newer headlights and bought new Mercedes plugs and pins. Do you have picks and a wiring sheet to what needs to be done. It's one of the last things waiting to be done. Hope you can help me and thank you. My email is wayneamckenzie@yahoo.com

So my parts all arrived yesterday for the 09 face lift on my car, and I decide to get a Tranny flush and an abc flush, as I never had it done before. Well...about 1 hr a getting it back from shop, grey abc, take to shop lights come on. WTF. So I stop and turn ignition on/off. Now it's friggin red, use caution. I hear a clicking near the driver feet section and it's getting more profound. I call shop, they say bring it right back. I take it to shop, they say it may be from overfill, 1 hr later. It's the tandem abc pump. Car felt like a tuna boat, but not that bad as I drove it. But notice able difference. Anyways...they covered the part and labor, all new fluids and I was very satisfied. Also I mention the fact of the small metal shaving running through abc system; they said they would flush it out. If any issues..like the other parts of the system go bad; they will replace under warranty. Kinda sux that it happened, but the integrity of this shop is class A. So it's worth it. Only issue is my autobody shop is waiting on my car to take it apart...so that will be on hold for about 2-3 days with holiday coming up and all.

Dryfit for all panels, fitment has been quite good; I have been told from body artists. One headlight had a broken bracket, they worked to make it right. Very happy so far with how fast these guys are moving.

Nice to see the progress sl65_rockford. Please keep us posted. I'm waiting for a Black Series replica kit to be delivered today or monday and I'm in the process of collecting the headlights and misc parts needed to start my conversion as well.

I've found this diagram on another thread, I believe that this the correct for the conversion:

The headlight conversion worked perfectly. My mechanic got my lights up and working in less than 1 hour.

Also thanks again for shardul, getting me the parts for the bell housing, for the pins for the headlight to be updated.

Part numbers:
Housing 0525456026.
Pins for housing 0095458226

All lights work perfectly, except those annoying 2 little wires on each side. I will review the threads from others to see where they go, I think I read some here that they won't be need in the US models of the r230. Who knows, will research

No matter how well the pieces are made, allow extra time for labor and always assume 10-20% more than estimated costs for extra "mending"

I believe we may have a small issue. Small but important for anyone who wants the headlight conversion. The pins that fit those ***small 2 wires**** on each side to not fit the bell housing case.

Called mb, they said two parts exist for those pins.

They provided another pin number, as the one I have posted above are too big for the one I got. Meaning, the new housing holes, are too small.

Here is the new pin part I will buy and Confirm here.

New pin number 009-545-81-26

The pin number I bought for the 2009, 009-545-82-26 seems to be for 2009+ sl63; bit pins are too small. In fact they are the same as the ones for the 2006 r230.

Per info on previous threads by sl4life, they are not used. The 2 different part numbers are for the same pins. They are not needed as they will not be used

Great news, light are all working. No harness needed and no pins needed either. Just a good mechanic and a 2 housing!

2 options. We all did it.

Option 1. Mercedes direct, parts.com
Aftermarket AL ....all same.

Option 2. Ebay. Buy used from trusted sources

Cost on option 1. Between 1100-2000 each

Cost on option 2. Between 400-700 each.

That's what I paid, took about 1 week of searching. And don't forget the ballasts. I don't know if the bulbs are the same as mine came with new bulbs. I do belive they are the same.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a hold of Juha's (Ekselent) wiring diagram for the headlight facelift for a 2006-2009+ SL65 AMG as far as how the wires go. A diagram of this would be of great help! Thanks for any help on this!

That is the correct number for the pins. But you don't need need. All you need is the housing (grey plug with the different colored holes) and the diagram. That's is. The pins are a waste.
