BenzWorks x Strasse Sport x Prior WB build - D2 Forged Wheels are ready
Long story short (I'll get into the details later), I shipped my 2005 SL65 out to BenzWorks to have the Prior Design black series wide body kit installed.
As everyone already knows, Serge is the man and BenzWorks is as good as it gets.
What you guys don't know is that there is a new shop in Covina called Strasse Sport. The owner Ivan Madrigal (formerly of LTMW) is very well known in the BMW world...he is a good friend of Serge and they will be collaborating for years to come.
Ivan is one talented individual and even more meticulous. There is blocking and priming and then there is this
If anyone is considering this project I would highly recommend running it through BenzWorks and Strasse Spot!
Also, anyone who is undergoing this project and wants to save some major coin...I ended up with two sets of SL wide body spec wheels and need to move the Rotiforms ASAP...I'll let them go for less than half of retail! pm me.

We've got paint! Ferrari Grigio Silverstone to be exact. This is fresh from the gun...cut and polish starts Monday.
I choose this color because my original color was silver so I wanted to keep it similar because I wasn't paining engine bay or removing doors...
The silverstone's heavy metallic flake creates a liquid-like depth that should really accentuate the body work.
Next up BenzWorks for lights, tune, exhaust and some other touches. D2 Forged should have the wheels out to Serge next week.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Very interesting, where is Benzworks, country I mean. If it's in the States
I wonder if they have a facility in the UK. Sounds like the best guys are
over there. How different is the colour your painting compared with stock.
I am not sure whether it will de value the car with a kit on, or increase it's
value, that's why if I get mine done I was going to keep it obsidian black,
collars and cuffs..
Lastly what is the price and can you use your own wheels.

Sound 8 - BenzWorks is in the states (California) and that is their only location. Their experience, passion and most importantly their perfectionist mentality is second to no one and they are the go to for many board members here.
TheRicker - Didn't BenzWorks do your brakes and tips on your build?
They have been fantastic! The star so far has been Ivan Madrigal (formerly of LTMW who has done many of the Liberty Walk builds)...the most critical part of these builds is the body work...there is a HUGE gap between doing enough to get it ready for paint and perfecting it for paint.
Ivan could have elected to stop and paint about 15 hours before he actually did...that extra time of blocking and priming made all the difference in the word
If you need body work done in the Covina area...Strasse Sport FTW! He is also does full service and tuning (specializes in BMW).
As far as re-sale...no matter the color...I cant see this as a good move for the re-sale value minded. The color is significantly darker than OEM.
The verde ithaca calipers and accents should really pop.
Wheel - 20x10 & 20x12.5 D2 Forged max convace CV8:
Mine will be polished step lip with graphite face.

Rollnnn - They are in Covina - give Ivan a ring on his cell 909-721-2873
He has a HUGE BMW enthusiast following and the line started out the door when he opened. With Mfest and BimmerFest work he hasn't had a chance to put up a site or even a facebook page yet.
I couldn't recommend the guy enough. The only negative I have is he is too much of a perfectionist, lol.

One final update before this build gets wrapped up by BenzWorks next week and shipped to Chicago to debut at the Another Level car show.
Strasse Sport went above and beyond for body and paint. These are some crappy cell phone pics from last week of the not quite yet completed body work.
Since these pics all pieces have been put together, chrome on grills painted black, carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser installed.
It's always funny to see how these kits swallow a set of 305 rear tires!
oCarbon interior pieces!!!
Currently at BenzWorks awaiting exhaust, tune, D2 install and some service work. Will update next week.

2015 SL63 AMG
bigger wheel spec can be achieve without spacer, since you have a 65, you have more than enough power to handle the bigger wheels and tires, the problem you or anyone who wants to do this should be consider should be all those fiberglass parts.
