ABC pump just died :(
White warning while on highway
Clicking/ whirring sounds coming from my feet area
Red warning just as I got off the highway exit
Suspension lowered, my wheels grinding the fenders (I have an aggressive offset)
Opened the hood and reservoir was overflowed.
Here I am, sitting on the road, waiting for my tow.
Hopefully the extended warranty covers this as they don't cover my struts.
Only you guys would understand this kind of pain, hence this pity post lol.
Wish me luck!

I remember my S600 all loaded going on holiday, about 5 miles from home
at traffic lights I saw smoke and when I pulled away I got warning signs,
I stopped and behind me was a trail of oil. Had new pipes fitted, around
2 grand and then on the way home I could hear something, it was the pump
apparently without leaks the pump was under more load, so new pump,
around 800 quid, and since this my pipes have gone again and so has the
pump. I got a new pump foc but had to pay for pipes again.
Joys of owning a Merc.

Anybody know where to buy a remanufactured ABC pump online? I saw in a different post that those run about $650?
The ABC pump is a dual pump and acts as a steering pump as well right?
I see on mymercedesparts.com that the steering pump is MSRP $1,770 but discounted to $1,319.

Do you need also new struts ?
Just for info, I did post on a different topic that I found a suspension specialist that offers coilover conversion as well as struts rebuild at a very affordable price.
Did not seem to interrest many people though.

Can you link up or reference where the new pump can be had for $1k? Sounds like a bargain
Nah, not interested in the conversion.. I still like my ABC... for now.

you can buy a remanufactured pump from mercedes dealer for about $800 with a core exchange. Has the same 12 month warranty as a new one. Put one on my car and eight months later no issues.

Wow, I had no idea MB offered reman'd pumps. I'll give my local MB dealership a call on Monday, since I think mine is dead.

Just wanted to clarify. Not sure what i was thinking when i responded. I actually bought a remaned SBC. Not ABC.
They do sell rebuilt ABC pumps but those are just pumps with all new seals. You can actually buy just the seals themselves for about $90 and rebuild your own abc if you know thats the only issue with it.
The problem with the rebuilt ones on ebay etc is they just put in new seals. You have no way of knowing if the pump parts themselves got damaged when it broke until after you install it and run it.
My indy was able to get me a new abc for $1200. The rebuilt ones on ebay go for about $800ish. I decided for an additional $400 it wasnt worth taking the chance on a bad rebuild.
Also decided to completely overhaul the entire abc system while im at it minus the struts(just had 2 new front struts installed and have already replaced 2 of the three main hydraulic lines).
bought 4 new accumulators for a total of $650. Pulling both valve blocks and cleaning and rebuilding them, installing new abc pump $1250, new 3 micron filter, rodeo fluid flush for 30 minutes. Drain the fluid, install another new 3 micron filter and refill fluid. Total cost for cleaning the valve blocks, fluid flush, installation of all parts and new fluid is around $900.
so all in im at around $3k for the overhaul. Hopefully this in conjunction with the abc maintenance posted recently in the forums will get me an issue free abc system for another 100k miles.
