Bosch '002' vs. '010'

What is the difference between these 2 bosch pumps?

0392022002

0392022010

I currently have the one ending in '010' in my SL65, but it looks like alot of folks are running the one ending in 002. Any difference?

the 002 pump was in all the old MBs which was prone to go out, the 010 pump is the up to date that all the new MBs are using now and are much more reliable

Thank you!

Thanks alot. At least I did that right. I am really getting discouraged by this car. On a cool day (75* +/-) it will literally scare you to death. On a relatively warm day - anything approaching 90* - is is about as much fun as an SL500.

My previous car was an E55 that I had modded with KLEEMANN pulley, ECU, headers and CF airbox. On that car, I had the full EVOsport cooling kit with the larger HE and phenolic spacers under the SC. That thing NEVER heatsoaked. It ran like the devil in any weather. Year, clearly more responsive on a cool day. But the difference was really fast on a hot day and really REALLY fast on a cool day. My SL is like CRAZY fast on a cool day and a hippo on a warm/hot day.

she has got the '010' pump and I had the system burped. Initially after putting the '010' in there, she was noticably worse, and they found an air pocket. After bleeding the IC system, the difference was night and day.

Is it possible that there is another pocket of air in the system that has managed to stay away from the pump inlet until now? Or is that not really possible - in other words, would another air pocket have been apparent much earlier, like when we first installed the '010' and right away knew something wasn't right.

As big a problem as cooling is on these boosted 12s I am surprised no one has come up with a better solution. Not to bag on anyone, but the Renntech system is silly expensive and I have really read mixed reviews about its overall effectiveness.

It's a pain to get these air pockets out sometimes it could be the case but on warm days the car heat soaks pretty fast, I've seen some people wire there pump to run constantly rather than only on acceleration, also there's upgrades to top mount intercoolers if you ditch the air boxes for intakes. I'm currently looking for a trunk tank to split the cooling, I figured cold, or even room temp water/coolant in the trunk will be better than hot water/coolant in the front

You can also look at installing Killer Chiller, Grip Grip is currently doing that project on his CL65
