05 SL65 ABC problem: rear raises when engine is off

Hi, I got 2005 SL65 6 months ago and now started to have ABC problem with engine off. When the engine is running, the ABC works just fine - car is leveled and sits at normal heights. When I turn off the engine, within about 20 seconds the rear driver side raises about 4" (I hear a sound like an air is coming in) and rear passenger side raises about 2". The front of the vehicle drops 2-3", especially the passenger side such that it almost seats on the wheels. When I turn the engine back on, the red warning "Car too low" comes ON and I have to raise it using the raise button (button works normally in all positions), at which point the car straightens and drives normaly. I have already replaced the rear driver side strut and front ABC valve block, but the problem persists. Rodeo test was normal. All struts work as they should. Please let me know if anybody experienced something similar. P.S. I have recently had ECU and TCU tuned, can this be related?

Sometimes I hear a small release of air after I turn my 06 65 off too but no auto leveling. No codes stored as to abc?

I traced the problem to the re-balancing of the ABC after engine shutoff. If I disconnect one of the strut sensors after ignition is off, the ABC goes into fault mode and the problem (rear driver side raises) does not happen. Apparently, the vehicle re-balances incorrectly after engine off. Any idea what could cause it?

Sounds like a leaky valve block. Get it hooked up to a Xentry and you should be able to figure out which block is leaking.

I think I have a scan tool that I can look at values with. Do you know the normal values for the valve block , how many I have and what it is called in the ABC suspension. If I find the bad one , can I remove it and rebuild .

I changed the front valve block - no effect, the rear still raises after shutoff. It is probably the rear valve block, I will get in changed sometime next or the following week.

I'm going to remove my rear valve block and dis-assemble it. you can clean them and then put it back together. I'm not sure when I'm going to due repair , but it should be in a few weeks.
Did you buy a new valve block and if so how much?

A scan tool will not do it. With Xentry you can actuate the valves individually and see which one doesn't hold the pressure.

You need some experience to be able to do it you self. There are companies that can rebuild the block for you.

I think I can do it , I am a 15+ year tech. I have been reading up on the system and it looks like the problem would be in the block and yes I wish I could get my hands on that tool. I'm going to ask a round. The problem would be if I had a bad solenoid but I don't think so because the system works. I'm thinking something is sticking.

I got one valve block from ebay, for $350. It was refurbished. Then I have the one from the front, which I opened and cleaned myself. Pretty easy task. I also replaced some o-rings on it.

That's great pogodin !!
now you can just do a quick swap for the rear one.
I work at a shop can you tell me where you got new o-rings , or are they like a standard size in the o-ring kit we have and you just matched them up??
What about the solenoids , did you ohm and test them ?

Not sure if it is stuck. It could just be a speck of dirt that keeps it from fully closing.

I think I used this set: http://www.harborfreight.com/225-pie...ent-67609.html

I think the ones I used were from this set, but I could be wrong as I got several different sets.

Harbor has lots of different sets for $5 per set pretty much. I would get 2-3 sets and see which ones fit, you will spend $15 or so.

Ok so I took so time and removed the rear valve block. took it apart and cleaned it. as I was putting it back together , I found a cracked o-ring on one of the smaller solenoids . These O-rings are square cut. So I used a round cut style , because that's all I had.
I found the problem is still there and now I'm going to attempt to find a good used one and try that.
If someone has one hit me up.

may I ask if you have done any tuning to this car? any ECU or TCU software upgrades? I have a suspicion that the problem may be related to software tune.
