Low dust pads for the 07+ calipers?
Was looking around and noticed that Akebono doesn't offer pads for the 07+ 6/4 piston calipers. What are you guys running to keep your wheels clean?

I'm not sure why 07+ would be any different but I put the Akebono's on my 2006 with 030 and it is amazing how clean my wheels have stayed. It's almost scary

I was curious about these pads, I heard they squeak no where as bad as the OEM pads, but isn't the braking not as great with the Akebono pads?

I have akebono on my C55 and love them. The stock pads had little braking in the beginning, then would grip hard when you got to a certain point. I'm finding the same in this car as well. The akebono is very linear, you can press the pedal a certain amount and receive what you expect. Overall I'd say braking force is the same, not better not worse just more linear. Dust is non existent, and if there is any dust after weeks and weeks it's silvery white dust.

Here is the EBC catalog link. MB SL's are on pages 338-340. The red stuff pads are ceramic/Kevlar, and dusting is nearly as good as Akebono, but stopping is better (both are my opinions, having used both on SL55, Porsche 928 GTS and Audi A8).

In the box on the lower right corner, put 348, and it should open to the correct page (~10 pages of info at the start, not numbered).

Thanks gary, that helps a lot from a 500+ page catalog!
So you have personally used these latest Red pads from EBC? I've heard that EBC has changed their pad formulations over the years, and people being very dissatisfied with them.
They are only $125 for the fronts and $100 for the rear, which isn't bad at all. Although it looks like the rears may not be in stock.

I had a friend with EBC pads on his CLS55 and said they were great for stopping power but the bite into the rotor was bad enough to mess them up. I wouldn't mind so much if the 65 rotors weren't 700-1000 a piece lol

I have the EBC red pads on three cars. A8 Audi, 928 GTS Porsche and the SL55. I like them for bite and low dust. Not long enough on any car to judge rotor wear.
