Help with tires
Guys,
My SL55 and I had a little disagreement with a curb yesterday and the curb didn't move... What that means for me is a pair of front and back tires and probably wheels too.
Currently on the back I have 255/30/20. Off the top of my head I don't know what the fronts are but I'll update the post in a bit.
I am considering the following and would like your opinions on them;
245/35/20 Front
275/30/20 Rear
What do you think of that setup? Let me know your thoughts.
Much appreciated!
PS Happy Thanksgiving to the American contingent on here.

Hi, I just put 305x25x20 wheels and tyres, this is the back.
Also 10mm spacers on the back and it looks awesome.
Good luck with your search.

Only one way to go 305/25r20 rear 255/30r20 front Pilot Super Sport. Make sure you go with quality light wheels when going with 20" or they will compromise ride and probably bend.

I just checked. I have 295/25/20 on the back and 255/30/20 on the front. I'm not really savvy in the tire department and I have a bit of a hard time understanding the sizes but does anyone see any problem with the following?
245/35/20 Front
275/30/20 Rear
What difference will I notice?

There's a problem there, you're buying thinner tires than you currently have, and specifically much thinner in the rear. With the amount of power we have in these cars, you want the maximum amount of tire.
I ran 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 on my previous wheels. The width and size is very dependent on the size of your wheels and physically being able to fit them on there.
Tires are very important, I suggest looking here to learn about how the sizing works: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=46
Most tires when you look them up will also have a recommended rim width range that'll tell you whether they'll fit or not on your wheels. Generally I like to put the widest tires possible that correctly match the stock rolling diameter of the original wheels to keep the speedo and electronics in tact. Also, wide enough that you won't rub the inner fender liner or outer fender skin.

You will definetly have less grip than before but a more comfortable ride however i think the 245/35 on the front may be a problem, you may get some rubbing you had 255/30 which is 76.5mm thick and the 245/35 will be 85.75mm this is almost 10mm difference so the total diameter of the tire will increase by twice that so 20mm( almost 1" ) this will also throw your speedo off.
