Some advice please

I have been looking for a company to supply and fit a wide body kit.
Then out of the blue I find a 2010 SL63 with black ed kit, looks amazing,
but it means no turbo, but you will get a far newer car.
I could get 30k for my car in part ex, and then find another 28k for the 63
wide body. What would you do, S8.

I'd keep the 65. You're looking at a large power drop off and lots of money difference for looks and some newness. That & I guess you get airscarf...

Yeah, the only thing I don't want.
But just think, probably no worries about bits going wrong, great exhaust
note, and F1 paddle change, and wide body looks
Without badges, except AMG people wont know what it is.
The only race I had in my 65 was against a GTR, and I lost, and I am certainly not going to race little boy racer hatchbacks.
That leaves looks......that wide body..................mmmmmmmmmm.

you can put the F1 paddles on your 65 as well as the widebody kit. What year is it? You can replace a lot of parts for the price difference. True you won't have to worry about coil packs and motor mounts, but the new ones still have ABC.

I have tried to get someone in the UK to fit a body kit, without luck.
Paddles on a 65 doesn't alter the fact it is still an auto box, whereas the
63 is a double clutch with superbly quick change.
You are right I could spend far less fitting a wide body kit, just tell me where.

Regarding no turbo:

The idea of putting a supercharger on a motor designed to be NA makes me a bit nervous, but Weistec here in the U.S. has done it. I know of one member that has a CLK63 BS with a Weistec blower. Those little boy racers would hear a second of sweet SC whine and that great 63 exhaust note like a split second later.

Didn't you already have an SL63? If I remember correctly, you didn't like it.

Sure I had a 2009 SL63 and like most of us like to tune cars. Because it
had no turbo I couldn't increase power easily, with a turbo an extra 50bhp
is quick a cheap job, you would have to have a supercharger fitted or major
engine work. However the 63 had good points but then they all have good
points. I have decided that LOOKS are the most important, and in the UK
an ordinary SL could be a SLR if you told them it was. The 63 I am looking
at has a black edition body kit on, and looks amazing. So it wins in the looks
dept, nuf said.

There are many wide body kits, I am sure some are crap. This guy has
a garage selling mega expensive cars, so no fly by night. He says he has
done 5 but no more. It is a direct copy of a black edition which is great.
I am going to see it tomorrow and will check fit and finish, it has done
44k miles, but then I don't do much mileage. My 65 looks, and go's great,
but the wide body is so awesome looking. Maybe the 63 can be tuned, I
read about changing headers, and a ecu change can get 25-30 bhp.
And of course fit a supercharger, thanks to every body for their suggestions.
You only live once and part of owning a car it customising it, I am only
happy when I am thinking about new car, not necessarily new, but different.
However when facing a decision where both sides offer something good,
it's a nightmare..
