Hello, I have an 03 SL55 that is giving me a headache trying to diagnose a taillight issue. Here's what I can tell you, it's not a bulb or lamp assembly issue because I plugged it into the other connector and it worked fine. This tells me it must be a power or ground problem. I compared voltage measurements on left and right connectors and they are the same readings? My cluster reads left tail lamp out, but it's working fine. I know there is a substitute lamp in the event the tail lamp goes out(fog lamp), but the lamp on the left is working, it's the right that's out. I just can't make sense of this so I'm hoping somebody has been here before and can help. Thanks

I'm reading the top light is actually the fog light and only the rear drivers side lights up by design. All data was calling that the tail lamp, but I guess they got it wrong. So, it seems as if everything is working properly if the top light is indeed the fog lamp. I'm going to verify in my owners manual when I get a chance.
