Hardtop problems
Hello Everyone, new to the forum with a question for you. The other night my hardtop got stuck about half way when lowering it. Over the next two hours, and memorizing the owners manual, I got the top back into place, but the trunk lid will not go down and lock. In that time, I noticed that the drivers side flap was not opened up, but broken and hanging. The other side was stuck deployed, so the trunk could not go down all the way. Long story short, I broke the other one off and closed the trunk lid most I could (4 inch gap), and took side streets home. I did just download the "vario roof diag. aid" but lack the time and place to really do it myself. Before I take it to a German specialty shop here in Vegas, is there any magic buttons that any of you know about that can help me out? Is there a manual way to lock it down? Thanks for your time with me, btw.

hi 5inister. the most common cause is the roof flaps arent triggering the microswitch. its a $45 part. its a common problem, i just had this same thing happen to my sl55, and tried the manual roof close and the front of my trunk closest to the c pillar will not close. please let me know what you find out, as i am awaiting a solution and appointment

@Spartan.. thanks, I have talked to two different places and my car is going to one of them tomorrow a.m. One of my issues is that that flaps are both broken off, so I'll have to replace those anyways. THEN there's the switches... I'll keep you posted.
