There is a 2005 with less than 45K miles for sale in Illinois at a dealer who sells mostly expensive used imports, for $26k. The dealer has a good reputation, but the car seems suspect. It has had 6 or 7 owners. The service records reported to Carfax would indicate some quality control issue under 15K miles (CD player, stuff like that). There seems to be a history of needing new tires every 15K miles. Pass on this one?

That many owners feels like they're all dumping it. Just my thoughts.

you know nothing about the car untill you have it inspected by a MB dealer, if you are ever interested in buying a used sl, have it taken to a mb dealer and have a complete cpo inspection, get the dealers master sheet and find out everything you can, then decide if you want to buy it.
these cars are to expensive to chance

If a car has gone through that many owners, I would probably pass on it. That's nearly one owner per year which seems suspect to me.
