Newbie. Looking to buy a 2005-2007 SL65 AMG
Hi everyone,
been lurking around here for couple weeks currently, mainly researching the common SL65 problems. Right now shopping around for a 2005-2007 SL65 AMG with low miles, around 40k-50k. This will be next project. The current one and almost finished is a 2004 Infiniti FX35 with Stillen supercharger and some mods. You can take a look here:
http://www.infinitiscene.com/forum/t...-2004-FX35-AWD
I'm keeping the Infiniti and want to pickup a used SL65 pretty soon. I have big plans for my next project. So far the US inventory is very limited, due to my budget, but I keep checking every week.
PS feel free to checkout our website(although we still adjusting the pricing), for best price just PM me here.

Thanks, searching everywhere. eBay, Cars. com, Autotrader and dealer auctions. All cars are either trashed or way overpriced. My budget is $40K for a low millage and unmolested car.
^Very nice car BTW!

I saw a very low mileage SL65 sell in the $38k range a year ago at a Lexus dealership in Miami. Lot's of unrealistic sellers. You may have to wait to find the right one at the right price.

Yes, prices are very high now. Way over blue or black books. I just saw one with 20k miles for $69k and another one with 10k miles for $55k.

I'm semi-retired and still have my dealers license. I see a dozen or so 65's going through auction each week, usually in CA or FL. A 2005 under $40K is definitely do-able. PM me if you want to see a run list of what is going through. Happy to help a brother out.

Thanks, appreciate the offer, watching Manheim closely as well. There was only 1 SL65 in last 3 weeks or so. Will just be patient I guess.

I bought mine a few months ago. 72K miles. 2005. $35K. I was very patient and found one at a Porsche dealer. Their trade offer was excellent, as they wanted my 996TT more than I wanted their SL65.
Patience. I looked for months.

Had a similar experience. They were asking 55k, but the real kicker was they gave me great trade in value on my SL600, 2005 with 86,000 miles. The net difference was about 25k and the SL65 had only 31k miles. Had it about 9 months now and I love the car. Good Luck.

^^Thanks. Will be patient this time. All my previous cars were bought in a rush, with color, options or miles I didn't like. This time I will do it right. Almost bought the SL65 in Atlanta couple weeks ago for $30k with 52k miles, but the car and the dealer are kind of shady, so I backed off. The car is still for sale, so just beware if anyone is looking to buy the SL65 as well!

Hey folks. Have a question for you. What do you think about R230 SL65 that wasn't driven much and has about 12k miles right now? Is it worth buying?

I'll be honest. I got my 65 in Dec with 29K miles for 37K. The car had 15K of RENNtech mods already included, which were done at an MB dealer. I also got my car from a Porsche dealer.
I priced my car higher because I've trended the prices and have seen an increase. So why not try to make a quick buck, right? Also, I don't care if I sell my car or not. I still like it.

^^^It's usually very hard to get your money back this way. It's way easier to part out IMO. You will get more money back.
PS Love your wheels BTW!
