I just had a Wavetrac installed and now the rear of my car has a slight sideways bounce and roll when driving over a bump such as a manhole cover. Has anyone else had this problem or know what may be the cause?

I get the same on a badly tarmaced bit of road near home.

A bump, a feeling that all four wheels have jumped a couple of inches to one side.

I have the SL65, but I'm pretty sure the same thing used to happen with my SL55 (2003-11).

Thanks for the reply, but this was not a normal movement. After taking it to an alignment shop and being told it was too far out for them to correct, I took it back to the place that installed the Wavetrac. They denied doing anything wrong, they even said they had not touched the rear subframe. The differential cannot be removed without removing the cross member that helps to stabilize the subframe. When I got it back, the rear instability was gone, but they continued to deny any fault. I then took the car to my local MB dealer and had it aligned. The service writer said the tech who actually did the work told him that someone had screwed up the rear suspension adjustments.

I don't mind someone making mistakes, we all do. What I can't tolerate is making a mistake and lying and denying. I won't be going back to the shop that installed the Wavetrac ever again.
