I have a pristine 2008 SL55 which I'd consider selling. I'll get the mileage and some pics. Iridium Silver, nappa black interior.

Been looking for that myself. Depends on what you plan to do with it. An SL55 is the cheapest performance/ COST ratio you can buy. They tune well with just a few pulley and chip tweaks and you have a 200mph car. Makes a great weekend drag-racer. The 5 speed 722.6 was retained for durability - but that tranny sucks to drive with the shift delays.

For a street driver I'd look for one with the later 7 speed transmission.

The SL55 never had the 7 speed available & can reach over 200mph stock. The reason MB factory limited them to 155 or 186 (with the p030 package) is that there wasn't a tire out there that could take the weight of the R230 at that speed. MB had a special set of tires made for a press day when the SL55 debuted and it went over 200 then stock.

I have seen over 200. Here's the stats from back in the day from Autocar I believe.
