Radio Code for Mercedes Becker Radio

I have a 2001 SLK 320 with a Becker radio serial number ending with 52860. I had to replace my battery and now I get the word "CODE" on the radio screen. I purchased a CD that supposedly has the codes on it. When I tried the CD code 76741 the first 7 in the number just blinks and I get an OK message on the right lower side of the screen. I'm I suppose to hit a key at that point? I have tried the button directly below where it says OK. But nothing happens. I have tried the * key and nothing happens. Eventually I get the message"WAIT". Which indicates I entered the wrong code. Then the radio locks me out for 60 minutes. I have tried the code a couple of times. I'm I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

Give the VIN number to your Dealership and have them look up the right code. You have to get the whole code in for it to work.

Here is a picture of the radio

I really don't like dealing with the dealer.

They will want to charge me for the information.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Maybe I'm Doing This Wrong.

I have a CD with the codes on it for various radio makers. I'm using the serial number off of the radio. Should I be using the VIN number of the vehicle to find the code for the radio. I'm sure the radio is original equipment. The radio has Japan Dolby sound stickers on it?

The Answer To The Radio Code Problem

I ran across a sheet of paper that was printed out be the dealership and given to me when I had some warranty repairs done. On that sheet was the radio code. I typed it in then hit OK and the radio now works. Thanks for the help.

where is the OK buton ?

Where is the OK button ? The dealer gave us a 5 digit code, we punch it in and then the first number starts to blink and OK appears on the lower RH corner of the display. No other buttons pushed results in a working radio.
