Key Fob replacement 2001 SLK 320
Lost flip key fob. Going rate in California is $500.00 at locksmith. Mercedes does not list this part. Any less expensive ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried the guy from Northridge in your state, I sent him my non working fob he rebuilt it from used parts.
The name is Northridgefix he has a you tube channel showing the many repairs he does.
it cost me 275 to have my fob repaired, but I give credit to Alex he didn't have much to work with the fob had many parts missing.

Yeah if you have no key at all your kind of stuck,
I would try to find a locksmith, that has access to the Mercedes Star System tool, they may be able to program a used fob to your car.
The guy at Northridge got my fob working, I didn't know there were parts missing inside, I had the wallet key to use while the fob was visiting the west coast.
Have you tried to buy the wallet key for your car, without having one, my car was dead in the water.

Second hand key never can be used as is locked to the car and there are no known device able to unlock them. Star wont program them as well.
In London the charge is around £200 but flight not included

Thanks for the information I'm sure others are wondering if that would work, I'm sure many other people have already bought fobs, then were disappointed when they found out they just blew a wad of cash on a useless item.

If a person can obtain a new cutting on a blank key shaft, can that be used to at least open the doors trunk and glove box in case the fob is somehow locked inside the vehicle? That seems unimaginable but strange things happen. My car came to me two years ago with a single precious working key and fob and one of these days my luck will run out. No one here in tucson AZ can help me get a second one.
