Mushy ignition, hard to remove key
Do any r 170 owners have a problem with the ignition key not removing? This happens to me about once every 25 times I turn off the engine. I try fiddling with the steering wheel, making sure it's in park, but it just seems to randomly decide to work again, sometimes after restarting the engine several times.
I had the ignition assembly cleaned and lubed but it always feels a bit 'mushy'. Is this normal with these? Would disabling the steering lock mechanism solve the problem? My mechanic had no clue...
