How to add/top off hydraulic fluid for the convertible hard top.
A write-up I just made as I went ahead and topped off some hydraulic fluid on my 01' slk320. Feel free to sticky, share, and contribute!

Adding hydraulic Fluid 2001 SLK 320 hardtop
Very well done instructions and pictures on adding hydraulic fluid to SLK.
Found a way for easier access to filler plug. Attached are pictures showing tools used to get to filler screw. Filler screw can been accessed by removing rubber trunk bumper (Pic 1) which provides fairly straight shot to getting to #5 torx hex filler screw. You can use a 1/4" screw/nut driver (Pic 3) or 1/4" drive socket
(Pic 4) with extensions added. Fluid container unit can be shifted by hand enough to get a good angle on filler screw. Hydraulic fluid is also easier to insert syringe hose into filler by using access through bumper hole. As mentioned, be careful to keep filler screw and copper washer from getting away.
Good Luck!!!
