Maybe I haven't searched enough, but I've been looking on this forum and others and I have not found a good explanation yet of why to relocate the MAF from its original low location to up near the top of the motor.


I've read somewhat vague reports from those who tried it such as "sounds a little different now" or "seems to be a little more responsive".


Did the factory ever do that as an improvement on the later R170's??
