Faulty camshaft sensor (slk230)

Hi all,

Help... my wife's slk 230 (1997) needs some TLC. When starting up it seems to stutter and cut out, if its revved for about 10 minutes it seems better but always feels like its likely to stall when ticking over although driving is fine with no loss of power or anything.

I've had it diagnosed at an a local garage who've suggested its the camshaft sensor. I was quoted £250 to replace, from what I've seen here it seems to be a simple DIY job have i missed something ?

Can anyone confirm if these are the right symptoms for a faulty camshaft sensor ?

Any advice is really appreciated!
