Just purchased a used 99 SLK230. Put top down and everything appeared OK. Tried to put it up and no luck. Still in trunk. Checked fuses - OK - I can hear the motor running. Any suggestions? Thanks - Ray

Thanks leapyfish. I read a couple of your suggestions and ended up finding a couple of leaking hydraulic cylinders and an empty fluid reservoir. Used a combination of the manual closing procedures and refilling the hydraulic system to get the top locked, the small side windows up, and every thing secured. Will have to remove the leaking cylinders and have them rebuilt at a later date. Appreciate your help - Ray

check your limit switch on the righthand side above the windscreen next to the microswitch
