We'll have updated stats next month for the Z4, Boxster, and TT. I'd very much like to also cover the SLK. The 2005 and 2007 are closest to having enough owners signed up.

Do you think Lamborghini owners ask about reliability?
Actually there are a ton of questions over on the lambo forums about reliability because when they break they cost thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. The average clutch lasts only like 15,000 miles and costs $5,000+ to replace.

Thank you for pointing this out. Beyond this, how many potential owners don't buy one because of concerns about reliability? Some people have the money, but they fear the hassle of dealing with a potentially troublesome car. They also have in their heads that they shouldn't have to spend big money on repairs, even if they have the money to spend.

Same goes for Mercedes, though to a lesser extent.

Our stats are the only ones that report the number of repair trips per year, so people can get a clearer view of how this hassle "cost." The average for a fairly new car is about half a repair trip per year.

Still slowly making our way to the minimum: now only three cars short.

Updated stats for most other Mercedes models and SLK competitors in a few days.

Thanks, kobe1136.

Sorry, got buried in the site and didn't participate in forums for a while. We have added the 2005 to the survey, though we might need a few more participants to provide stats on it. Others also closer.

Total of 123 SLKs now signed up. Thanks, everyone. As mentioned earlier the 2005 is now in the survey, so additional participants for this year would be especially helpful.

How you can look at the SLK data?

edit ... "Problems" works but not "Reliability" comparison

Sorry, we don't have enough data on these yet to provide reliability stats for them. We only recently added one model year to the survey. If enough of the people who signed up respond, we'll have some stats later this year.

We'll finally have a stat for the 2005 later this month. Thanks, guys!

We will have a "very small sample size" disclaimer with it. So additional participants would still be very helpful, or any year.

We (finally) have a reliability stat for the SLK, based on owner experiences through June 30, 2013.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2005 SLK: 28, low, very small sample size

Like other sports cars, the average odometer reading is low.

We'll have further updates later this month and in February.

Just checked, and the SLK320 is among the listed trim levels for the SLK. If you haven't gotten this sorted out, please PM me or (better) contact me using the link at the bottom of each page on the site.

We've updated our reliability stats for the SLK to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2005 SLK: 26, low, very small sample size

With more participants we could provide more precise stats and cover more model years.

For the repairs behind these stats, reliability information on other models, and to sign up to help improve this information:
