Dealer Inspection

My friend's lease of his car (2005 SLK350) is coming up in March. He is stilling deciding if he want the buy-back.

He is thinking to go to a dealership to inspect the car to see if any expensive repairs in the next 1-2 years. Is this worth the effort ($250)?
