2004 SLK32 AMG R170 What are best spark plugs and torque specs ?
I have a 2004 SLK32 AMG R170 What are best spark plugs and torque specs for the plugs ? I'm not having any issues with performance or acceleration. It has 33,000 miles on it and these are the original plugs and I know the owners manual calls for plug replacement at 5 years or 50,000. A MB mechanic wanted $400 to change plugs, I'm assuming those were MB plugs which are expensive. I thought I could do it myself to maybe get a bit better gas mileage and performance. I was considering using Bosch plugs, which ones would be a good substitute for the original MB plugs ? Manuals and specs are hard to find for this car. Does anyone have any of this information and know where a manual for this car is for sale. Even online Euro-parts dealers that I called about spark plugs didn't have any info on the torque specs. Is it necessary to change the spark plug wires or coils when changing plugs ? Any advise or tips on changing the plugs, such as using anti seize or Di-electric grease when installing the new plugs ? Thanks in Ohio
