Check this wondeful race. Before you start reading the BS on youtube, the SLS is completely STOCK. We have raced Ferrai 458 when our SLS was also completely stock, Same exact result, check it out:

Wow, that is shocking, we are led to beleive otherwise, I cant beleive the way it pulls on a roll, it seems they are rolling around 40km/hr and they start the race.

Saw this from the sidebar. WOW! That is seriously stock?! I thought the Italia would've pummeled the SLS!

Or Chris Harris was REALLY right... Ferrari's customer cars are really nothing like the press cars they modify.

Bro,

my brother "SLS Qatar" raced one Italia 458 when his SLS was completely Stock. The ferrari only had one driver, while both of us were in the SLS. We pulled away from the 458 even more. If you look at the video above you will notice the SLS driver did not race in manual mode and did not switch to ESP sport, which make a diffrence when racing. AMG POWER BABY

Jeremy clarkson is seriously full of it

I believe that Stud is referring to how Ferrari modifies their showcase & demo cars to be better performing than the actual production models.

For reference, see the article that Chris Harris originally wrote at Jalopnik about Ferrari (http://jalopnik.com/5760248/how-ferrari-spins). He was banned from test driving their vehicles after this was published.

I'm surprised that not all of you have seen/read that.

I now wonder if GTboard's videos had a press Ferrari 458 Italia since it raced and was dead even with a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 Balboni which in turn killed an SLS AMG.

That orange Balboni that you are talking was tuned and had a modded exhaust. It was featured in the Moscow 500 Unlimited Race. It was tuned by EvoTech.
That same Balboni was fried by a tune only SLS AMG by Kleeman.

And if you would like to see a race of the same SLS with Lambo LP570-4 check the thread I posted https://mbworld.org/forums/sls-amg-g...lp570-4-a.html

Not to take anything away from the SLS (Good kill by it!) but is the LP570's driver starting at the correct revs and shifting right? Just to eliminate any obvious signs of errors from the video and sounds alone.

I raced in sports+, 458 on my left and f430 on the right and the sls shot like a catapult. Sls's rear view was the only place for both F cars . I was quiet surprised especially about the 458 which I had read everywhere is faster than the sls

458s like all the other Ferraris are all over the map, performance wise.
No two 458s have identical performance numbers, they have significant differences in weight alone, just based on how a particular car was optioned.
No such thing with big manufacturers like MB,with cars over engineered to perfection when compared to Ferrari or Lambo (even with Audi's influence).

and Not neccessarily two SLSs have the same weight or performance. You can choose not to have the P30 package, sport suspension, sport seats, there are different wheels...etc.

Correct.
That's why there are so many different results in these impromptu races....

Right at the 3:52 second mark. Drag race between the three. Turbo S obviously lurches ahead and stays ahead all the way. The LP560 Gallardo very slowly pulls on the SLS by a 3/4 car length before race is over.

I'm assuming AWD helped it out for a bit.

In a drag race I don't deny the SLS will be beaten by 458. One of the reasons is because of those Continental tires which really are bad for drag racing.

But at a street race starting from roll-on, the SLS will even kill the LP570-4.
