If you received an answer/solution, please post it here. Today I have the same problem - and I have never been able to make the AMG private lounge work for me, despite registering successfully.

I took mine to a trusted shop today and their computer said there was a difference in readings between two oil sensors. That's why the error message on the dashboard. Of course whether that is a real problem or a problem with the sensors isn't known without further investigation. BUT, the error message now has disappeared. Maybe permanently... who knows. If it comes back I'll post here. (The oil sensors are approx $135 each, plus labor)

Unfortunately the error message has returned. So if anyone has any info from the private lounge please post it here. (I am logged in on the private lounge, but can NOT get the site to work. I have no clue what the problem is. Never been able to get it to work (windows 7, firefox and IE).

Thanks for the reply, but my point is the private lounge does not work for me. "Should work" doesn't mean it does. I'm pretty decent with computers, but can't figure out what's wrong. I can see the counts of posts in the threads, it shows that I am logged in. But the page looks kinda strange and says "registration required" a couple of times. That's why I wish I could get the oil sensor info, as the warning message is ON but I can't read the info on AMG private lounge.

I had mine repaired by a dealership. It sounds like the 2011 has some wires going to the oil sensors that are not sufficient wires. So they cause problems... and then a proper wiring system is put in when you bring it in for repair.

Unfortunately this wiring error by Mercedes just cost me $2700 to repair. I'm still ticked off and shocked.

2011 AMG SLS, K&N Air Filter, Cargraphic Exhaust, Klassen M51R Wheels
Mine was 2010 built and had done 11,000km. The same message came on yesterday when I started the beast, getting it replace this weekend.

Mechanic also suggested to replace all spark plugs and do a brake fluid change, just wondering if it's necessary to do so.

Hello bteasley, I'm having the same problem and after changing the new sensor the problem still exist. May I know what did they actually do to the wiring system.

Many thanks in advance!

I was told this problem was fixed starting in the 2012 cars.

Apparently there was a wire (or wires) that were not of a high enough caliber. Maybe that means impedance, ohms, voltage, whatever. I'm not an electrical expert by any means. But the original wires were not good enough for the job they were supposed to do. It became a "known issue" so the wire(s) were upgraded starting in 2012.

Unfortunately to change the wires you have to first take out many things in the engine. This all adds up to a costly bill.

Since they made a mistake, it seems to me they should cover the costs. But at least in my case that didn't happen.

Thanks bteasley for your reply! I'll mention this problem to my mechanic and hopefully they will rectify it asap.

Found this document LI15.18-P-054061 hopefully this will also help!
