I know it's a long shot. Just bought a 2012 with no window sticker. After i bought it i went to the dealer and had them print out the msrp. The car had the engine cover option but the dealer i bought it from (Top Gear Imports) must have taken them off for another car. I can get a new set from the dealer for three times the amount of the orig option cost but trying my hardest not to do that.

I purchased the SLS Carbon Fiber Engine Covers on Ebay @ 5 months ago. Since then, haven't seen any listed on ebay. Dealer quoted me a price of $12,720.
Personally I know 4 SLS owners who like to purchase this item.
Maybe someone on this forum knows a 3rd party Vendor who can produce and have a group buy on this item.

I found someone that sells the 3 main sections for about $7500. I have another SLS that has the CF engine covers and was going to bring them over to a friend that said he could recreate them but not sure i'm really going to save that much. Maybe if you get a group buy for the 3 piece kit we can get a better price.

I can't believe there isn't a firm out there willing to step up and offer the parts (aftermarket or OEM). I even emailed the original supplier to MB but never got a reply. The list price from the dealer parts department is pure stupidity.

I inquired about that set but was told by the seller it would only fit a roadster. Guess he was wrong. I'm in for a group buy if the price is right.

I decided to take the covers off of my Black series and give them to a CF fabricator. He may take a few weeks to get me a price. I've seen some of his work on my friends race car and was very impressed. I'll update asap.

Just out of curiosity, how does the CF engine cover attach? Do you need additional hardware?

Haha! Well i can answer one. There are a few clips needed but no major hardware needed. I'll take a couple of pics of what's needed.

As we all should know by now. Oem carbon fiber isn't even oem its outsourced. It's a straight premium luxury tax.

If you guys really have serious interested parties pm me ill ask a friend who made my black series wing to create this package. There will be need of a deposit. I'm a carbon junkie I know where the fix Is haha.

The fabricator that has my set of covers just told me a set will cost me between $7-8K for all 5 pieces including hardware etc. I told him to go ahead with them. Not sure how long it will take but i'll post pics when i get them back.

Definitely interested to see what your fabricator can do the package for pricewise.

At the $7-8k price level (or lower) - I think there would be a lot of interest - especially if there is almost no discernible difference with (outsourced) OEM.

Fit and finish will be a concern. I'd be willing guinea pig for a Fab to get this right / ironed out (at a discounted price).

I guess you missed the part where i explained i just bought a 2012 that was missing the CF engine covers. The A holes at Top Gear Imports (saddlebrook NJ) removed them from the car. So i am the guinea pig and trust me, that is the discounted price unfortunately. The fabricator had to purchase roughly $8K worth of CF weave that matches the OEM weave so he's really hoping to sell at least one more set.

I had my brother who lives in Germany reach out to the seller on Alibaba. He finally heard back from them and the covers were all sold about 5 months ago. He then said he had some other options. Not my cup of tea.Here's what he sent:
