Well I cut 2 coils but I would do 1 and see how it looks. I say this because if u want to go with a staggered wheel set up like mine u can still get camber arms and have it aligned for the back and not rub on the outside. With mine I won't be able to get it to not slowly wear the inside because of the drop.

for the love of G-d... how much does a set of H&R or eibach cost ? Is it really wise to play around with cutting springs compared to getting a set already made and designed that way ? Yes I know not all cars drop the same , " spring pads " they come in 4 different heights !! and I do know some people want to slam the W210 .. but you want to slam it .. is the W210 the best car to do so to ? Arent there a slew of other candidates that are far more suitable for that ?

Your right let's not be different! Everybody on the MERCEDES FORUM go buy a Honda civic and tinker with that! Yes springs don't cost much but you'll probably be throwing or old springs away so who cares. It's one coil!

You cut TWO COILS !! out of what ? five ? you honestly think this is safe ! Yes I know cutting springs is practiced all over .. but it MUST be done right , with the right tools .. and FYI people who know what they are doing never cut one coil at once ,, they do it quarter of a coil at a time ... one day ( and I hope I am wrong ) we will have a newbie who reads all this .. slam the car cut as many coils in whatever method..rest the springs on the perches themselves w/o pads so it will drop more .. then one decent pothole will be all it takes !

Mine sat way to high from factory springs I had got from the dealer and I ***** to them that they were wrong. i had over a 2 inch gap after putting them on over my rims. That's why I did 2 coils and no I don't recommend cutting two.off

Yes I'm new to the site but not Mercedes. I wish I could take u for a ride in my e430 and it would probably surprise many on how smooth it handles bumps.

hii every body,
i've done the cutting for the stock springs 1 coil in front and 1/2 coil in rear,
it was very very easy and safe and the ride hight became very nice and the quality not affected at all
Benz springs design is the most safe one to be cut as its totally equal and not having any flattened end but my advice is not to cut more than 1.5 coil for any reason unless you change your shocks with a shorter ones

sorry for taking so long on these.
Again, these are the springs from the cup kit sport and are around a 2" drop. A little bit of oxidation on the bottom a spring or two, but with less then 14k miles these guys are just getting broken in. all boxed up and ready to go.
