R2 a W211 Instrument Cluster

Hi,

I'm changing out my instrument cluster on my 2006 E-350 because some of the letters do not show up when I cut on my vehicle. All letters show up after 5 minutes of driving.

Question:
If I buy a used instrument cluster ($100 used)/($1450 new) how do I adjust the mileage reading?

You don't unless you have some very specialized EEPROM read write tools and know how to use-------make very sure that the part number is the same less you will be back whining about your new cheap crappy IC doesn't function!!

Plutoe-

Thanks for the insight. I talked to a few MB dealers around the country and finally got the exact part #A21144068118 that matches my VIN. Right now I'm thinking that $1200-$1400 for a new instrument cluster is absurd for a 10-11 year old car. When I sell the car I will let the buyer know the real mileage on the vehicle as well as the maintenance record.

Again thanks for the help.

Not a problem if you live in the USA---most states have provisions for situations such as yours---look at your\the title for a space for mileage correction!!
