Independant shop for Gearbox replacement *HELP*

Hi all,
anyone can recommend a good shop in DFW area to do a gearbox replacement?
my car recently has rough gear changes especially between 1st and 2nd gear or vice versa.
took it in for a check up and got a call today saying that my gearbox needs a replcement, dealer is quoting $3000 for parts and labor.

is there any other place i can look around in DFW?
