Vito CDI 112 2003
Cool Vito SRS reset

I have a Vito CDI112 where the circuit to the airbag was broken inside the steering wheel, which is a kind of spiral of flexible wire, which also is the circuit to the horn.

This caused the SRS lamp to light continously after ignition on.

I replaced the wire, but the SRS still lights, and MB tells me they charge EUR110,-/hr to connect their computer to scan for error codes. Isn't there something else i can do my self, im electronic engineer, and should be able to succeed any described procedure from you guys.

Anyone know how to reset the SRS warning or what tools i can purchase to scan my dearly Vito with? I've seen loads of scanning tools on the internet but i have lack of trust in several of the shops, so i dont kno aht to choose from.

Please advice,

Michael/Denmark.

Hi, I had to change my wiper cluster and turned ignition on while bag was disconnected (duuu).
A friend of mine runs a vw audi garage so he reset it for me for a beer. If jo public went in off the street he would have charged £50. I'm not sure how many german specialist there are near you but I'm sure they can clear fault for you.

hell, that SRS light appears even I get my car washed from the carwash. I can't understand how they can do it! After a while SRS light disappears amazingly. So stupid... Also a friend of mine could make it appear by taking the driver seat back. I think SRS system has a problem with the accurate cables...
