Mercedes v220 cdi
v220 cdi ambiente
I have a V220 CDI reg 2000, when I am in traffic or crawling the accelerator dies and I have to release my foot and repress for the vehicle to pick up again usually with a jerk, doesn't give any problem when speed picked up, can anybody throw an light on the problem?

Best guess (1) on what causes the problem: Lack of diesel supply
Initial causes: Injection nozzles (cracks), injection pump, diesel filter.
Check motor oil for internal diesel leaks , these can cause havocs.
Best guess (2) : Lack of air supply
Check/replace(remove for test) air filter.

Hi
Thank you for the response, I have changed the fuel filter, engine oil stays at the same level so doesn't appear to have diesel leaking into it.
haven't changed air filter yet, the vehicle most of time is fine, it seems to get worse when the vehicle as been running a while, it appears when crawling in traffic mostly it will crawl at the speed the accelerator is pressed but as soon as I need to speed up it flatlines, I have to release and repress the accelerator to pick up speed then it is ok, if that makes sense?
Regards
Trevor
