weight reduction!!

hi guys! just got my car back from the shop with a new ecu tune and got my carbonfiber hood and carbonfiber trunk installed .. wow lightening really gets the monster out of the car! damn the car lost a lot of pounds... the stock hood cant be carried by 1 person even two person makes it really heavy to carry but with the carbon hood 1 person very easy also on the trunk! the cars feels very light and fast on accelaration , im palning on getting a new lighter car battery and lighter spare tire if theres an availble size that fits our car!! just sharing my experience. thanks also the carbon hood and carbon trunk looks really good on the BLUE color! thanks. sorry no pics yet. ill try to post pics once i have a free schedule. thanks

Yes, weight reduction is something people sometimes overlook. You could take off even more weight by getting some lite weight Recaro seats to replace those heavy stock ones. But then again, some may consider that blasphemy on a Mercedes

I wish I could get a CF hood for my C55.

The CF hoods for the CLK fit perfectly and are relatively cheap from VIS.

mine is made by STAGE21 japanesse manufacturer. its really light. and its real carbonfiber. im thinking of getting recara 360 seat power seats leather . lighter than stock

Where did you got trunk. I have a Vis CF hood and like an effect of it a lot - but could not find a trunk for W210

from what I remember the stock hood is about 45-50lbs, but b/c its so big & awkward it requires quite a few people to lift.

The trunk lid isn't as heavy but still some decent weight reduction. Racing seats are great on a CLK, but on a 4dr W210 it will look kind of goofy.

its a custom made trunk by STAGE21 dont worry guys ill post pics by nextweek . the car will be displayd by dec 5-6 in a carshow. im sure im gonna get some pics of the car. the sotck trunk is kinda heavy also. right now im looking at reccaro 360 leather/powerd sports seats. im still looking if its still available. it kinda light also my friend used to have one for hes s2000 and its really nice
